Money and the day

Money is counted in whole euros. It enters your company through what you move and what you own, and it leaves through what you buy and what you keep running. No player can send money to another player.

Source When it is booked Counts as revenue
A sale at a market, a harbor or an airport when the vehicle arrives yes
The pay of a job or a rush order at the delivery yes
The payout of a workshop at the settlement no
Rent and fees of housing and maintenance at the settlement no
The proceeds of a lot at the settlement no
The reward of a quest at the claim no
A vehicle sold back to the bank at the sale no
A loan when you take it no

Revenue is what you earn by moving goods. It matters because only revenue earns research points: 1 RP per €1,000.

Cost When it is booked
The price of a site, an upgrade or a vehicle at the purchase
Operating cost of a vehicle, per km when a trip ends
Upkeep of every site and every vehicle, per hour at the settlement, for 24 hours
Wages of mechanics at the settlement
Interest on loans at the settlement
An import bought at a harbor, a lot bought from a player at the purchase
Service of a vehicle, maintenance of housing when you order it

Once a day your company settles. It happens in the hour after 00:10 UTC, at a minute of its own for each company, so no moment of the day is worth being online for.

The settlement books the upkeep of your sites and vehicles for the day, the wages, the interest, the payout of your workshops, and rent and fees. It also pays 3 RP for a day in which you earned revenue. Then the totals of the day start again at zero.

The result of a day is your income minus your expenses, without what you invested. A site, an upgrade and a vehicle are investments. The game lists them apart, so a day on which you bought a truck does not read as a loss.

The game keeps the last 30 days. The Overview draws them as bars.

Your cash can fall to -€10,000 and no further. At that floor:

  • you cannot buy anything,
  • the upkeep of your sites stops being charged,
  • your mechanics stop working, and their unpaid wages are not owed later,
  • vehicles whose route sells something keep driving, and other vehicles park at their next stop.

Nothing is taken from you. The way out is a sale: every loop that sells earns more than it costs. You can also sell a vehicle back to the bank for 50% of its price while it stands at a stop.

Net worth is your cash, plus half the purchase price of your sites and vehicles, plus your stock at the region average, minus your debt. It sets how much the bank lends you. See Loans.

  • A site is demolished without a refund, and its stock is lost. You can demolish it once no vehicle is homed there or routed there.
  • An upgrade stays with its site and is not refunded.
  • A vehicle goes back to the bank for 50% of its price, 60% with the node trade in. Its cargo is lost.
