Harbors and imports
A harbor is the market that always buys. It pays less than a hungry town and more than a full one, and it never fills. The node harbor export opens all 7 harbors.
Exporting
Section titled ExportingA harbor buys every good that sites make, at a factor of the region average of its region:
- 70% of the region average for the first 100 t your company sells at that harbor per day,
- 50% beyond that. The day ends at midnight UTC.
A harbor has no stock, so your sale does not lower its price. What lowers it is a region whose towns are full, because the region average follows the towns.
With grain at its base price, a truck load of 20 t earns €1,680 at a harbor. The same load earns €3,072 in an almost empty town of 50,000 inhabitants and €828 in a nearly full one, which also leaves 5.0 t on the truck.
Use the harbor for what your towns cannot take. It is the floor under your prices.
Imports
Section titled ImportsA harbor also sells goods that no site makes. A vehicle buys them with the stop action "buy": it loads what fits and what your cash pays for. The price is fixed at 115% of the base price, and the supply has no end.
- Each harbor sells its own list, so which harbor you drive to is a choice.
- A harbor never buys an import back.
- An import sold in a town earns money only while that town is short of it: below a fill of 37%, where the town pays more than the harbor asked. Read the price card before you load.
- Some imports are inputs or boosts for your own sites.
